Action Plan for Business: Key Aspects

On one occasion I was in a study group that was doing a project after class. We were given the keys and were supposed to lock the doors as we left. After finishing the project, everyone got up and left the classroom. The keys were left in the drawer of the table. Later, we found out that the teacher came by the classroom shortly and realized that we forgot to lock it and so, locked it himself. Everyone in this situation was hoping for another person. Someone mentioned something about the keys and then the issue disappeared and everyone forgot. Also because this was done quite often, no one worried that something will happen to the classroom. In case such a situation comes up again, it would be better to set a designated person and then remind everyone else, so that all the group members feel responsible.

Once volunteering at a local school gymnasium as a soccer coach for a group of children, there was a rumor that the school was being cut in funding and it was going to be closed down. In about several weeks, the head coach called a meeting in the gym because he was from the board and had some news. He confirmed that these rumors were not true and that this was started by the private school, opening in the area. The first time people heard the rumors they became anxious, as this was their job for some time and they were hoping to stay employed here long-term. A lot of teachers lived in the area and so they were not pleased. There were doubts that this was really happening but no one had the hard facts yet, as it was only circulating for several days. Later, people were somewhat relieved because even the smallest possibility of something negative happening, is worse than absolute absence of any. The lesson that can be learned is that close research and consideration of the fact is needed, before any decisions are made or any information is taken to be true.

The most common negative experience is the transference and loss of information. Before, it happened several times and was not very pleasing. Later, it was possible to back up the information on flash drives and exterior hard drives. Even now there are technological-electrical “glitches” that cause a stoppage or delay of work or information search. The good thing is that there are many devices that can be used to store and retain information. A micro card in a cellular phone, an mp3 player in a pair of sunglasses or a computer in the front panel of a car could all be used for this.

Budget, stock prices, amounts of shares sold, earnings and customer return rate are all measures of control for a business. Budget is the possibilities of the company. Stock prices show the interest in the company and stability. Amount of shares sold determines the possible resources and future developmental changes. Customer return rate demonstrates what is needed and how the quality and service of the business are viewed by the public.

Since they will be directly interested in the customer’s satisfaction to be high, their performance will be more customer oriented. The adjustments would have to be made to the organisation of communication, for better feedback and recommendations. The company would be more interested in good customer relations and so, some policies could be changed to better suit the needs of the consumers. More lenient product handling or service selection would be possible directions for establishing a good rapport with the customers.

A company would choose to follow because the plan of action or a certain technique is already set out. If there is a company that uses a particular strategy and it has proven to be effective, then it is better to modify some parts and use it, thus starting the development more rapid, whereas in case of new inventions, the time will be spent on testing the new technology or structure of the organization. It is more beneficial to first use already existing ideas and then slowly build new concepts upon the previous knowledge.

It is important to keep the product fresh and free of damage, so the companies that are involved with the storage, refrigeration, transportation and presentation will be preferred. The freezing technology and coolers are the must have of any grocery business. Transportation has much influence on the presentation and storage time of the products, so a high quality transportation methods and schedule are a must. Since these companies are outside of the grocery industry, a consultant might be hired or some research about the topic done.

The smallest computers that are made today with touch screens and numerous capabilities, are the greatest invention of the last 100 years. This technology represents human technological thinking and allows taking this knowledge anywhere and developing it even more. Life became more practical and things that took up time unnecessarily can now be avoided.
