Chinese: The Next World Language

A language of world significance is a language that is widely used for communication by many people worldwide, having the status of a state or official in several states. In my opinion, Chinese will become the next world language because it is the leader in the number of speakers. In the XXI century, China is steadily gaining economic momentum; this leads to more and more foreigners wanting to know and understand Chinese.

The main argument in favor of the Chinese language, which in theory can become the next dominant one is China’s fast-growing economy and its political influence on the world. The French language’s impact was due to France’s imperialist behavior and its cultural influence on the aristocracy and the diplomatic world. It was replaced by the British crown with its English language. And finally, the United States took over the management of the economy, continuing to strengthen the influence of the English language.

However, many people are scared off by unusual hieroglyphs, of which there are already several thousand, and unusual tone pronunciation. The Chinese government, understanding all these difficulties, is doing a lot to make Chinese as popular as other world languages. The state-owned company trains specialists who can convey basic knowledge of the language to foreigners as quickly as possible. It also produces educational literature, creates all kinds of language courses, organizes educational grants. In short, it does everything to make the Chinese language more widespread.

It can be assumed that in twenty years, many people will know at least a few hieroglyphs. Shortly, it remains to be seen whether the Chinese authorities will succeed in spreading the Chinese language. Despite the above arguments, it is impossible to precisely predict how the Chinese language vector will develop in the future. However, one thing remains unchanged — knowledge of any language will always be an advantage for the overall intellectual development of a person.
