Confidence People Had Towards Government in the USA

Introduction

A survey was carried out to find out how much confidence people had in that government. A total of two thousand five hundred people were considered for the poles which were carried both orally and through the internet. The results should be considered for publication considering the reliable means that were used. The people that were interviewed did not only give us an answer but also explained the answer. They are hence a clear reflection of what is in the minds of the people.

All categories of people were considered for the research as they formed the entire population. Oral research was however done on teachers and the civil servant as it was easier to find them. The main error that was recorded in the research concerns the civil servants that were interviewed. Most of them did not want to act in a way that will suggest they disliked the government yet it had employed them.

Americans did not have confidence in the government

It was discovered that a big percentage of Americans did not have confidence in the government. They felt that the government was not doing enough to ensure that they are provided with the basic needs. There are various things that the people always expect the government to do for them and when they find no such fulfillment in the government of the day, they become dissatisfied. Some of the issues that raise concerns about the government are security issues, the ability of the government to provide them with sufficient social amenities, economic policies that are passed in the government, and the job situation in the country.

The war to have leaders who can feel for the needs of their people and endeavor to satisfy them. However, most countries are filled with leaders who are up to fulfilling their political ambitions rather than acting by the needs of the people. They utilize the opportunities they have in power to impact their families and individuals rather than the people.

No ability to solve the countries top problems

A research that was carried out by pew research center survey about what made the people of America lose their trust in the government revealed that they could not solve the countries top problems (Tanielian & Jaycox, 128). People have expressed their desire to see the powers that have been put on the government to be minimized and allow other groups to participate in the decision-making process of the country. They expressed their concern on how much powers they invested in the government yet it was not being utilized for the betterment of the nation. The area that has been of most concern was security which made the Bush administration declare war in Pakistan.

The war on terrorism influence

The polls that were carried out revealed that the people of the United States lost their confidence in the bush government when the war on terrorism was defeated. They raised questions on the ability of the government to track the bombings which was the main cause for the subsequent attacks in Afghanistan (Clements, 67). Despite the facilities that the country had which would have facilitated the trapping of the bombs, they were not able to and hence causing deaths and injuries of many people. The lack of confidence in the government was also related to the unequal developments that have been observed in different states in the country.

The Americans started showing concern about how their tax money was being used, after years of fighting and no solution being reached, they started losing confidence in the government of the day. Their money was being used to fund a war whose results were unclear (Stiglitz & Bilmes, 89). It was also a period when there was a world financial crisis. The US had used most of its resources for war and it was like there was nothing left for the people. Video clips were also shown of the sufferings that the people of Afghanistan have had to go through since the onset of the war. The US was considered to be inhuman as it inflicted pain on innocent citizens. Most of the people that were suffering had nothing to do with the war. It is for this reason that the Bush regime was despised for not showing concern for humanity.

Conclusion

War was not working and there was hence a need for dialogue. As the leadership of Obama came in, there was a lot of optimism that dialogue rather than war will be used in the fight against terrorism. Troops were to be withdrawn from Afghanistan and the country helped to recover from its mess. The war impacted greatly the economic growth of the country (Patel & Rushefsky, 120). The leaders concentrated on getting weapons and recruiting more troops and ignored the other needs of the people.

The United States withdrew donor support on most Islam nations as they suspected them to be part of the terrorist links. Trading activities between such nations were also interfered with which affected international trade. As the war raged there was a lot of tension and the Taliban vowed to retaliate on the attacks. All eyes are now on America as the people watch the improvements that will be brought about by the Obama leadership.
