Covid-19 as a Challenge to Global Health Community

Covid-19 is a global health issue, which poses a challenge to the international health community. The pandemic has affected the entire world as it spreads fast with human beings as carriers of the illness. Covid-19 is caused by a virus that transmits through close contact with an infected individual. Many people have been the victims of the disease, and thousands have died across the world. Covid-19 has been a major global health issue, which calls for the international health community to come together to find a solution to save the world from the pandemic.

The public healthcare system has faced severe challenges following the outbreak of the illness. Health workers have been widely affected by the disease as they come in contact with ill persons every day (Rangachari & Woods, 2020). The healthcare systems across the world have faced challenges as no country could request human labor support from the states with a high number of doctors and medical experts. The patients with other conditions have suffered from the shortage of medical practitioners to attend to them as most doctors and nurses are committed to fighting the pandemic (Khalifa et al., 2020). The persons with other critical illnesses have faced issues in the public health sector as most individuals with Covid-19 infection filled the intensive care units.

The World Health Organization has worked to integrate the healthcare delivery systems globally to unite to counter the disease. The World Bank and other international financiers have allocated funds to joint task forces across the world to embark on discovering a vaccine against the virus. Doctors across the international health society have brainstormed to find better ways to deal with the pandemic and to help researchers in the field of finding the vaccine. The World Health Organization, the United Nations organization, and the World Bank are among the major stakeholders dedicated to finding a solution to this global pandemic.

The world has faced the pandemic cautiously as countries exercise preventive measures to counter the spread of the virus. The international health community has unanimously worked to ensure every state is safe from the virus and has the best response to the infection. Various global organizations have effortlessly come out to drive the health sector through support, such as financial and supply of equipment, to help them address the threatening disease.
