Financial Supply Chain Disruption in 2020

The financial supply chain refers to the process of monetary transactions which traverse from one trading partner to the other to aid the provision of goods and services. According to the video by Tichenor (0-3 minute), cash flow within the casino is an intricate process beginning with the gamblers placing their bets. The coins and notes then get to the counting table, going to the safe storage. Consequently, the money is transported to the gaming club owner who stays in a remote location in Las Vegas City. Currency movement is ideal in maintaining the continuity of business operations. Thus, the hindrance in the process would cause individual financial crises among a sector of society.

Interruptions are often caused by a change in spending habits of the buyers of external factors that threaten the business’s existence. The COVID-19 pandemic has been one of the world’s leading economic threats which has disrupted the availability and circulation of finances for many people. In my view, its effects have been far-reaching for everyone across the globe. Before the public health crisis, I could do part-time jobs within the hospitality industry, and their closure by the state meant that the additional revenue streams were locked. Consequently, I have not been able to maintain my routine lifestyle, such as going out for picnics owing to my inability to afford it.

The interruption of cash flow cycle affects the purchasing power of consumers and may also hinder the profitability of business. Thus, both the buyer and the seller tend to suffer the consequences of lower supply of goods and services. Within the context of the casino, few gamblers would mean that low amount of money would be available from the dough counters. Consequently, the taxi business would also diminish alongside jet trips that ferry cash to the casino owner would be hampered.
