Healthcare Reform Issue on Presidential 2012 Elections

Coming closer to Election Day for presidential polls, American people face one of the most challenging times in deciding on an appropriate office bearer. The most probable candidate to face the incumbent president, Barrack Obama’s opposition in the race to the white house is Mitt Romney. This former Governor for Massachusetts believes in himself in challenging President Obama at the polls.

The political atmosphere is shaping up with both candidates determined to make the best out of this 57th version of America’s quadrennial presidential elections. Among some of the contentious issue taking center stage in a vote, determinations are the present economic situation and the concept of reforms in the health care sector.

The current president who is also presenting his candidature for a re-run had signed the healthcare reforms document into law on March, 12th 2012 opening up ground for reactions from the two main political camps. The democrats are in support while the opponents are opposed to the idea instead accusing this move of a misplaced priority.

Based on the timings of this reform, the country is on the verge of facing economic constraints coming in form of unemployment, the crisis of national debt among other social issues. The Republicans are using this point to justify their point in trying to oust President Obama out for having signed a document without prioritizing other sectors of the economy.

According to the statutes put in the new law on health, a reshuffle on medical operations and the system is apparent. Health care providers get direct influence from the decision arrived at in form of passing the reform into law. Improving the health system to serve a wider range of variability by government involvement is a sign of achievement to some citizens while is accused of miscalculation. Part of their reasons is based on the assumption that the move should be applied in the creation of more jobs to reduce unemployment.

The new law marking a change in the healthcare sector is referred to as Affordable Care Act, ACA. This presents other stakeholders in the same system to be vigilant on the standard of services by evaluating the physicians. In section 3002 of the health law, there are a few improvements to the physician quality, performance contracts with other additional monitoring strategies.

The issuance of performance contract mechanism discourages staff from the free will to perform duties. Sub section F of the act talks about improvement of quality in health care delivery systems, pilling pressure on health practitioners to make better of their system.

The act focuses on patient protection which serves as an appropriate move by President Obama’s government for a section of the population. Application of voluntary de minimis as a policy for the low income earners is an amnesty giving credit to the incumbent President. However, others are contented with the situation of no reforms. Health care workers face strong challenge in reaction to the new law which has since evoked debate on the appropriate stand. A section of physicians opt for early retirement as a result of health reforms which piles more obligation pressure on them.

Personal opinion on which side to take on the ballot depends on the moral impact of the health care reforms. This is subject to contention with others being is strong support while some are in protest over the move. It is definitely inclined to the side which favors personal interests as the main drive for which direction to take in support of the office bearer come November 6th 2012.
