Improving of Breastfeed in Temple University Hospital

The process of improving the current rates of exclusive breastfeeding in postpartum women will require a well-constructed budget since the incorporation of communication tools and materials for performing role-playing and scripting for the target demographic will require taking multiple expenses (Schneider et al., 2016; Gray, Grove, & Sutherland, 2016). The proposed budget focuses primarily on the opportunities for encouraging the dialogue between nurses and pregnant women, as well as the tools for making role-playing and scripting as engaging for the target demographic as possible (Grady & Hinshaw, 2017). Since the motivation of pregnant women defines their choice of whether to use exclusive breastfeeding or not, a substantial number of resources will have to be used on improving communication to convince the specified demographic to adopt the necessary behaviors.

As the table above shows, the current budget for the project is not quite stretchable, which is why it is necessary to use the majority of the financial assets on the key resources. In addition, the fact that there is a significant shortage of nurses observed in the Temple University Hospital, the nurses that will be included in the research will have to work extra hours in order to participate in the experiment (Cherry & Racob, 2016). The specified change in the nurses’ workload will be paid accordingly; namely each nurse will receive roughly $150 per hour for performing the tasks outlined in the research (Penner, 2016). The amount of money to be allocated for salary-related costs is justified by the strenuous environment in which nurses will find themselves. In addition, the fact that nurses will need to learn new skills of communicating with patients and educating them with the help of scripts and role-playing have affected the specified factor.

Despite the tangible lack of financial resources and the generally small number of opportunities to pursue in terms of the use of innovative IT and ICT tools, the project is likely to meet the set budget. It is believed that the project will allow addressing the problem of promoting exclusionary breastfeeding in neonatal care, encouraging more women to accept the specified practice. Moreover, the project will help to extend the connection between a nurse and a patient, encouraging a greater bond and a better use of emotional intelligence to build a rapport with the target patients. As a result, post-partum women will be able to start exclusive breastfeeding without subjecting their children to the health threats that the use of the formula may possibly entail. In turn, the designed budget is expected to lead to an effective distribution of the available financial resources.
