Gun violence is one of the most acute problems that modern society faces. It is a daily tragedy because many individuals are severely hurt or even killed. Gun violence can affect anyone, yet, in certain cases it disproportionately affects the most vulnerable groups: people of color or other marginalized communities (Cukier & Eagen, 2018). Therefore, it is vital for the government and other stakeholders to ensure people’s rights security and guarantee safe environment. This problem needs to be addressed urgently, as illegal possession of weapons can lead to serious crimes.
Undoubtedly, efficiently realized projects to regulate firearms and prevent violence can stop the massacre. However, gun violence prevention should begin with parent who must educate their children to ensure their stable emotional and eliminate any violent behavioural pattern. In terms of communication, gun violence occurs on the basis of continuous misunderstandings which further cause aggressive conduct. What is more, it is vital to understand the framework of intercultural communication since the majority of shootings are based on racial hatred. As a result, establishing proper communication with representatives of any community should contribute to solving the issue.
The successful prevention of gun violence requires the involvement of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, different communities, organizations, health and social services. Moreover, it is crucial for social media and major online influencers to promote the relevance of this topic and suggest way of its prevention. PR campaign related to the gun violence prevention can be launched to promote increased gun control, support people’s rights, and contribute to citizens’ safety. As a consequence, only a holistic approach towards solving this problem will help to reduce atrocities in the society.
