Parenting is one of the most critical aspects of social dynamics, where children’s development and growth are affected by the choices their parents make along the given process. The concept is present in many areas of life, and one might argue that it is prominent in the literature and arts. The given assessment will primarily focus on the play Into the Woods, where the contemporary knowledge on parenting will be applied to the key characters. Parents make up the child’s first social environment, where socioeconomic status can have a major impact on the development process (Roubinov and Boyce 164).
The personalities of parents play an essential role in the life of every person. At the same time, the feelings that color the relationship between the child and the parents are special feelings, different from other emotional connections. The specificity of feelings arising between children and parents is mainly determined by the fact that parental care is necessary to support the very life of the child. The need for parental love is truly a vital need for a small human being. Every child’s love for their parents is boundless, unconditional, and boundless.
Moreover, if in the first years of life, love for parents ensures their own life and safety, then as they grow up, parental love more and more fulfills the function of maintaining and safeguarding the inner, emotional, and psychological world of a person. The majority of characters of the play are all influenced by some form of parenting style, and different elements are prominent in each case. Therefore, parenting is an outcome of four interacting factors, which are process, person, context, and time, and they can be additionally affected by beliefs, cultural values, and socioeconomic status.
