Problem of Mental Illness for the Individual and Society

I agree that any mental illness is a serious problem for the individual as well as for society; mentally ill people can be dangerous sometimes (the presented case only supports this claim). I also agree that people should pay more attention to individuals who potentially might have mental issues in order to help them and avoid an unpleasant situation. According to Mental Health By the Numbers (2021), “Trying to tell the difference between what expected behaviors are and what might be the signs of a mental illness isn’t always easy”. However, I do not think that it happens because of the lack of education. Although mental health remains a poorly studied area of medicine, people receive all the needed information to recognize mental illness. I suppose that such situations come from the fact that people simply ignore symptoms of mental illnesses in others. Thus, I think that sharing information to remind people to be more attentive to mental illnesses’ symptoms would help. In addition, I think that it would be useful to provide ways of sharing all-important information about mental illnesses. I assume that social media is the most effective source since people usually learn news and fact from the network.

Vaccination is a controversial topic in medicine, indeed. Many case studies and research studies show both: positive and negative effects of various vaccines. I also believe that vaccines successfully work and prevent many illnesses and even deaths. Even though some vaccines actually have side effects that influence patients negatively, statistically, most vaccines still help the healthcare system to fight illnesses. I also agree that the opinion of professionals about who is better to be vaccine and who is not is extremely important in making the process of vaccination more conscious. In addition, I suppose that it would be helpful to pay more attention to research and testing new vaccines in order to be more aware of their positive and negative effects on people.
