Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, will be an outstanding place for my personal growth and career advancement. The institution is one of the top-ranked public research universities in the country (“About Rutgers,” 2020). This means that I will be able to develop and grow among the most competent and skilled group of educators. In addition, I greatly respect the student community of Rutgers University, which is highly proactive in its academics and extracurricular activities. The university offers a wide range of options to choose from, which widens the range of possibilities and opportunities that are paramount for any student’s career goals.

Rutgers University aims to teach, research, and serve its students and the overall city by training people. I believe that I will be able to achieve my personal growth at Rutgers by being able to study as well as research in the relevant field. On-hands research experience is essential for a person who seeks to develop as a competent professional and skilled worker. I believe that the modern competency-based approach in education provides for the development of professional and general cultural competencies in the personal growth process. Competence is the ability to apply knowledge, skills, personal qualities for successful activity in a certain field. Professional competencies include knowledge, skills, and abilities, as constituent elements obtained in the study of the main disciplines of the curriculum. They will allow me to carry out professional activities in the specialty received. General cultural competencies are also important for me because it is a combination of knowledge, skills, elements of aesthetic experience that allow a future specialist to navigate in a social and cultural environment, successfully adapt in a professional environment.

I am convinced that the education system in Rutgers perfectly handles the task of forming highly qualified specialists based on a competency-based approach. For me, such a specialist, in addition to the mandatory set of special and basic knowledge, should be able to act in complex non-standard situations, be able to apply data from various sources of information, quickly make the right informed decisions, and defend his point of view in discussions with opponents. One of the objectives of Rutgers is the improvement of students’ competencies, such as creative, cognitive, and communicative skills. The latter allows a student to become a competent specialist and intelligent personality with a proactive approach at his or her disposal. I am convinced that academic research and analysis play a central role in a modern student’s educational process. Rutgers University will provide me with a combination of a wide range of activities, such as pedagogical, educational, and scientific. This will allow me to grow both professionally and personally.

In conclusion, Rutgers is an excellent platform and environment, which catalyzes the processes of development among its students. I am eager to become a valuable member of Rutgers due to the overall completeness of its educational purposes. At Rutgers, I will be able to study and research as part of my career growth, and I will also be able to network for my personal growth. Changes in current society have led to the emergence of a new educational paradigm related to the orientation of the activities on the individual as an absolute value, with the adoption of humanistic values ​​in the pedagogical consciousness. The peculiarity of the position of an educator at Rutgers is determined by the wide possibilities of modern educational technologies based on the specifics of the taught disciplines and their value orientation.
