I am writing to you as an American citizen and resident of your district regarding the Marijuana Freedom and Opportunity Act. I am writing to urge your support and ask you to co-sponsor the bill that can bring equal opportunities for all Americans to benefit from such health services as medical marijuana treatment.
At the moment, states’ laws on the use, storage, and distribution of marijuana are significantly different, and while residents of one state can purchase cannabis for treatment or recreation from licensed vendors, residents of another state can become criminals for the same purchase. At the same time, multiple studies demonstrate that the use of marijuana in moderate doses reduces chronic pain, post-traumatic stress disorder, and symptoms of many diseases. At the same time, the lack of federal law and the consideration of marijuana as a drug make it impossible for most patients to access this type of medication due to the limited opportunities of providers to reduce the high prices.
For this reason, I ask you to support and promote the Marijuana Freedom and Opportunity Act, which will unify the rules for the use and distribution of marijuana and promote the development and price reduction of this healthcare service. I hope for your support as 19% of the projects you sponsor are in healthcare and affordable medicine, which speaks of your concern for the well-being of the nation. For this reason, I offer you a pamphlet for your reference that provides additional support for the Marijuana Freedom and Opportunity Act.
