Theory of Interaction Through COVID-19

The selected theory of interaction aims to investigate the relationships formed between individuals, groups, and subunits of society. It focuses on the process of interaction and communication that affects the formation of personality and the behavior of each individual participating in it. All social phenomena, such as conflicts, cooperation, or personality formation, derive from and are defined by human interaction to a great extent.

This example concerns the case of the 71-year-old English Prince Charles, who was tested for the virus on March 23. A day later, the result was confirmed, but the royal press office said that the disease is in a mild form. The Prince, in old age, is in a vulnerable position, but his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, is even more at risk. In addition, Charles, as a socially active person, regularly interacted with the aristocracy, politicians, and family. As a British citizen, he has health insurance that covers treatment.

The theory of social interaction applies to Charles from several perspectives. First, the Prince has a large number of social ties and presumably could have contracted from Prince Albert II of Monaco. Second, the Prince is a member of the royal family and has a significant influence on the Britons. For this reason, the doctors approached his case with particular importance, conducting tests in 1 day, while ordinary citizens can wait a week. This was also important from Charles, therefore it was necessary to trace the possible spread of the virus. Finally, as soon as the results were found, the Prince, as an example to many people, went to the Scottish House to isolate himself, where he continued to work remotely. Close kinship and active contact with the Queen concerned the public to see the health of Elizabeth II. However, the fact that the Queen had reduced her social contacts had a good effect, and she was not infected.

In addition, immediately after recovery, the Prince, taking advantage of his social influence, appealed to millions of Britons and citizens around the world to share his story and draw people’s attention to the problem. As an opinion leader, he spoke about the importance of sanitary regulations, expressed gratitude to medics, pharmacists, and all those who continue to work despite the danger. At the end of the address, Charles addressed the audience with the hope that it would soon be over and that better times would come.
