A high-performing team is a group whose members are deeply committed to each other’s personal growth and success. It far exceeds not only all other teams but all reasonable expectations, given the abilities of its members. Participants of such a team have a heightened sense of responsibility for doing teamwork. Creating a high-performing team requires that employees feel the importance of personal contribution. This can be achieved through financial incentives for the most successful workers.
A highly diverse team is one where social, ethnic, and other minorities are represented. Moreover, regardless of their status, all members of such a group have equal rights. Diversity in business is about how people feel at work. The company strives to create a corporate culture where every employee can be themselves and maximize their abilities. Diversity makes employees feel that their opinions and presence matter and they are respected and listened to. In an inclusive environment, employees are broad-minded, free of prejudice and bias, flexible and adaptable. It is everyone’s responsibility to achieve diversity, as innovative solutions and financial success depend on it (Levine, 2020). Among the consequences of a lack of diversity is a decrease in creativity within the workforce (Vedantam et al., 2020). In addition, it is likely that it would become harder for the company to adapt to changes in the marketplace.
Through the development of corporate culture and diversity, organizations begin to make innovative strategic decisions more frequently. This can be done because different groups are learning from each other; that is, they share experiences and knowledge (Levine, 2020). In addition, the scope of the possible and the idea of the norm are broadened, which causes an increase in creativity (Vedantam et al., 2020). Thus, employees begin to think in ways they have not done before, which provokes the emergence of innovative solutions.
