Nurse educators’ roles are to prepare their students for competent work in a hospital and to ensure that the health care environment is continuously changing due to the further actions of their alumni. Furthermore, their chores are to compare and to analyze the efficiency of various educational programs. Nurse informaticist is obligated to provide essential information to one’s colleagues. For instance, he or she has to organize and consider new methods of the documenting process, update and to administer patient databases, and so on.

A nursing administrator is of the most responsible occupations in the health care system. This profession has a wide range of roles and requires leadership skills to provide efficient health care to patients, to establish various procedures for one’s auxiliaries, to organize professional pieces of training for the medical personnel in order to improve workers’ skills and knowledge. Moreover, a nursing administrator is obligated to provide schedules of shifts and working hours, to advise patients on their healing processes, and to be responsible for the budgeting of additional courses for one’s colleagues.

Health Policy and the Advanced Practice Role

The current health care system depends on the government of the United States of America because the latter does not provide enough financing to the medical personnel. This influences the quality of health care due to an inability to purchase new equipment (Antos et al., 2016). Moreover, it is necessary for leaders in the health care system to set specific goals and purposes for this country’s industry.

Besides, many Americans cannot receive proper medical treatment due to their low incomes. Today’s health care services may also be provided by private doctors. This situation remains a tremendous disadvantage because hospitals have a lack of finances for particular improvements (Antos et al., 2016). It is estimated that an average American citizen with a minimum wage is not able to afford one’s sick leave (Niederhauser, 2013). Moreover, it is essential for doctors and nurses to be more patient-centered, which gives people an opportunity to be treated individually and regarding personal requirements.

The process of making improvements and changes in the health care system is almost impossible to accomplish without the inter-professional collaboration of medical personnel. This organization includes all the key players and parties of interest in this sphere. Moreover, the National Institute of Medicine has outlined six major aims for the health care system to achieve better and efficient workflow (Ohama, 2013). The safety aim implies good health care to a patient that would not cause any harm to his or her health condition.

The patient-centering aim obligates nurse practitioners to pay extra attention to individual problems or wishes of patients. The effectiveness goal is to save time, supplies, and resources if these are not beneficial for patients. The timely aim is to lower the waits and delays of people with emergencies and necessities. The efficient aim is the lowering of equipment, drugs, and human resources wastes. The equitable purpose is treating all the patients equally, regardless of their social and financial status. Furthermore, in order to make significant changes and improvements in the health care system, it is necessary to lower the prices for medical services.

An average nurse practitioner is able to lead an effort to make or influence the changes in the country’s health care system by paying more attention to whom one provides scientifically established services in order not to waste resources for people who are not likely to be healed with these treatments. Furthermore, it is essential to make the young generation aware of all possible activities that might cause harm to their health. A nurse practitioner also might give classes to youth and regular patients to establish and popularize a culture of health.

To predict the effort on health care quality if the changes above are implemented, it is proper to state that everything depends only on medical personnel. Although the government does not provide enough financing, the changes have to start among ordinary employees. Nevertheless, all the aforementioned aims and goals will make the health care system more efficient, patient-centered, and less expensive. If national medicine reduced some costs, it would not affect the hospitals’ profits. More patients would use health care services, which might improve the quality of life in the country as well.
