There are different directions in which one can develop; however, the importance of the liberal arts can hardly be overestimated. Covering disciplines such as history, humanities, natural science, and social one, the liberal arts help form knowledge about the world through the prism of a specific aspect, with its approaches and assumptions. Studying the subject will allow forming skills necessary for life in general and in professional activity. “Asking the right questions, creatively solving problems, and critical thinking” are the aspects that are emphasized when studying the liberal arts and are of a certain value for life in the modern world. (par. 3) For my education, bachelor in business with a specialty in human resources, the study of this course is the most relevant. Knowing the liberal arts will help cope with difficult situations, resolve conflicts and correctly present oneself, which is extremely important in working with people. The skills gained on the course fit into life because a critical look through the lens creates a full perception of each studied object.
Previously, I had no experience attending liberal arts courses, so acquaintance with the discipline is especially valuable. Natural and social sciences are of greater interest to me since they can be most applicable in my professional activity. Considering the natural sciences, the matter of concern here may be the ecology of the planet. Attempts to prevent the damage that organizations inflict daily will be interesting to consider and possibly implement someday. Sociology is extremely important in working with people, understanding the mechanisms of interaction, forming groups, and influencing some processes in society (Mondschein, 2020). In general, the reflections on these issues and the knowledge gained during the course are valuable and can be useful in professional activities and everyday life.
