Cellulitis is a skin infection caused by bacteria called staphylococci and streptococci, which can manifest itself in the form of skin redness and swelling. Cellulitis usually affects the skin of lower legs, yet it can emerge anywhere on the body, including individuals’ faces (Rath et al., 2017). The common risk factors for the condition are obesity, exposure to polluted water, other skin problems, diabetes; moreover, it can potentially lead to severe illnesses, such as sepsis or infection in other body parts. Cellulitis can be easily prevented by adhering to a set of general guidelines that include staying hydrated, preventing skin dryness, keeping weight under control, and ensuring that wounds and cuts heal properly. Treatment of cellulitis depends on its severity, but generally involves the use of antibiotics and rest at home, and does not require hospitalization.
