Introduction

Certified Nurse Aide’s Challenges
CNAs, as integral components of the healthcare system, provide a majority of direct patient care. They assist patients with daily activities such as eating, bathing, and moving, and are often the first to identify changes in a patient’s condition. Despite the critical role they play, CNAs often face poor working conditions. They are tasked with physically demanding responsibilities and are frequently exposed to infectious diseases, making their job both physically and emotionally exhausting (Chen et al., 2023).
In terms of remuneration, CNAs are often underpaid, considering the intensity and importance of their work. The median annual wage for nursing assistants was more than 30,500 USD in 2020. This low pay is a significant concern as it can lead to high turnover rates, negatively affecting the quality of healthcare delivery.
