Title of the Project

The Implementation of Psychological Training as a Preventative Measure Aimed at Reducing Falls in Elderly Patients.

Problem Statement

Fall-related injuries are very common in nursing practice. The consequences of falls such as fractures and TBI hurt the patients’ condition. While working out an efficient strategy aimed at preventing falls, it is critical to indicate their principal causes. Thus, it is suggested that fall occurrence in the elderly is closely interconnected with psychological fears. To resolve this problem, psychological courses are proposed as a preventative measure aimed at reducing falls.

The purpose of the project is to reduce falls in elderly patients. Its principal aim is to find a solution to the psychological problems that cause falls. Among the objectives, one might point out helping elderly patients become more confident, encouraging them to share their fears, and providing some behavior patterns to avoid falling.

The proposed research aims to answer the question of whether the relevant psychological training can assist in fall prevention.

Hypothesis

The completion of the proposed psychological program will help elderly patients become more confident and avoid falling.

Methodology

The proposed research has a quantitative experimental design. The methods include surveys, review of medical records, and statistical data analysis. The experimental group consists of 25 elderly patients.

Implementation Steps

In the framework of the proposed project, it is suggested to carry out two statistical analyses: before the program’s implementation and after its completion.

Results

The number of falls after the program’s completion has reduced by 60%. The participants report on the improved general condition and increased self-confidence.

Conclusion

The proposed intervention has a positive impact on the patients’ psychological condition and is highly assistive in reducing falls.

Relevance to Clinical Practice

The proposed intervention can be implemented in any health care center due to its cost-effectiveness and the simplicity of its application. It is supposed that this methodology will perform a significant contribution to reducing falls and will become an essential part of any falls prevention program.
