It becomes hard to preserve their standard of life, especially if they are wedded or have children because they use more than they receive. They eventually end up in the streets after failing to pay rent.
The deficiency in job opportunities contributes to this phenomenon. Most people who lose their jobs often end up on the streets without homes. It is noteworthy that several factors contribute to this widespread situation in California. Significant proportions of people in this category lose their homes because they cannot pay their mortgage, thus foreclosures. It is notable that significant proportions of such persons lose their possessions during the expulsion process.
Inadequate fiscal assistance from the administration is another element that results in poverty. A large segment of the populace has scantily paying jobs, which cannot gratify their demands. These are the people who depend on the housing subsidies issued by the centralized administration to procure their homes. The sudden withdrawal of this grant left many of them weak due to their limited funds hence the inability to address their needs.
This development has negatively affected American society because it contributes directly to the escalation of vices. Ladies who find themselves in this dilemma are subject to attacks by rapists. This may result in unnecessary pregnancies which leave the mothers with an additional burden. Some of these escapades may facilitate the multiplication of STDs, an occurrence which contravenes the global guidelines of reducing contagion rates. These ladies may also take on in prostitution to cater for their requirements. This is detrimental to the societal fabric, since it perpetrates promiscuity thus increased divorce tendencies.
Children born in these environs have higher likelihood of ending up in foster homes and juvenile institutions than those with somewhere to live. Most of these children do not attend school. This makes it difficult for them to be employed in the mainstream society due to lack of academic credentials. Significant proportions of these people also resort to crime in order to gratify their wants. It is noteworthy that high percentages of these children are underfed as a result of unhealthy consumption habits. This distorts their growth thus making them vulnerable to infections.
People in this dilemma are exposed to more harm than benefits. They are subjected to unhealthy conditions and live in lasting fear due to high insecurity levels in their environs. It is noteworthy that in a state where majority live luxuriously and in opulence, there are people who lack basic needs such as food, outfits and an abode. It should be a challenge for everyone to influence such persons positively consequently improving standards.
