Art Creation
There is a significant number of topics that are especially loved by both authors and readers and used in literature rather often. Though all of them were being discussed for many centuries, poets can still find ways of expressing their thought and feelings about such themes in unusual ways. One such theme is love, its eternity, power, strength, and inspiration. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the poem of Elizabeth Barrett Browning and find a thematic connection between this work of art and my own piece.
The Inspiration Piece
Elizabeth Barrett Browning is a brilliant English poet of the nineteenth century famous for her great sonnets. “How do I love thee?” was written and published in Britain in 1845-1846 and became one of the most known, read, and beautiful pieces about love (Browning, n.d.). In her poem, Browning examines various ways of loving someone and proves that there is no limit to expressing this feeling that does not end even after death.
My Art Piece
My Love
In my heart and in my thoughts,
There is only you and nothing else.
Every cell of my soul and body is dedicated to you,
And I can think only about my love.
It scares me to realize that it is my strongest feeling,
And if there is no way to express it,
I will die of its power.
But even then, I will continue loving you.
My love for you can be seen
In the sun, in the Moon, and in all daily joys.
It is inevitable, eternal, pure, and free,
It makes me happy and weak.
I only know that I will not stop loving you,
Even after a thousand years.
I may change, I may become anyone,
If it allows me to be with you forever!
This poem is a way for one to let another person know how deep, pure, and powerful his or her emotions are. When people truly love, this feeling hides everywhere, and there is no chance of escaping or forgetting about it. The world around also gets filled with love and becomes meaningful. Moreover, the endlessness and power of love do not let this feeling vanish even after the death of the loving person.
The Connection
Both of the poems are dedicated to love and its power, eternity, and inevitability. Moreover, in both poems, it is stated that even various modifications like death cannot stop a person from truly loving someone, and the love becomes even better and stronger. These poems’ mediums are different, as it seems to me that the language of my piece is simpler. However, it does not stop the readers from understanding both of them since love is something that may be felt and experienced without language.
