Introduction
Determining the elements for student success is an important aspect of ensuring quality learning as a process and outcome. The hypothetical college selected for this assignment is a top-notch college with high admission requirements. Accordingly, this raises the bar for student preparation, creating a challenge. However, students’ identification of the components of success at the entry stage and throughout the study can greatly help them.
Components of Student Success
The hypothetical college I have chosen for this assignment is a top-of-the-line college with high admission requirements. Students are accepted based on the entrance exam, grades, and various community merits. The characteristics of the student body in an educational institution are limited by the number of students, which is equal to 99 people in one specialty.
At the same time, students may face problems associated with high expectations for them in the learning process. The educational institution faces an excessive flow of applicants to join each faculty, which creates a large load on the system. Components such as ongoing e-support, access to an extensive literature library, remote learning opportunities, and individual curricula need to be included in the student success program (Renn & Reason, 2021).
The first component focuses on round-the-clock assistance, which can significantly help students organize their time. The library, individual plans, and distance learning can be a tool of convenience. The community spirit is still poorly developed as the student body changes rapidly.
The feeling of competition and stress from needing to complete assignments prevents many types of leisurely student interaction and organization. As a result of these conditions, students feel overworked, stressed, and isolated from their contemporaries. The process will be completed by establishing study/stress management groups that accept students voluntarily. In these groups, individuals can work together on completing their assignments while also receiving my guidance regarding stress management approaches.
Conclusion
In conclusion, it is important to note that a student’s success in any educational institution depends on several factors, both the institution and those who study. Many factors, such as accessibility to sources of knowledge and the ability to choose the most suitable programs, are integral to facilitating students’ tasks. Thus, the university must be able to solve the problems it encounters to improve the experience throughout the study.
