The Importance of Football for Youth Development and Health

Introduction

Football is the most widely played team sport. That is why many parents opt to send their children to football practice. This is an excellent sport for children of all ages because there is virtually no age limit to begin participating. Recently, there have been an increasing number of examples where schools have totally or partially prohibited the practice of a specific sport (Karlsson et al. 139).

In most situations, this refers to the practice of football during school hours owing to the potential for student harm. However, in current times, the issue of children and teenagers’ lack of physical exercise is quite urgent. At the same time, parents are increasingly questioning whether their children need to attend physical education programs. In the 21st century, children are no longer interested in various sports, which is detrimental to their overall health. Therefore, the ban on playing soccer can worsen this problem.

Main Body

Since starting school, the child has had less time and fewer opportunities to be mobile: lengthy walks and energetic games in kindergarten have been replaced with nights spent sitting at a desk and completing homework. And as a youngster grows older, he or she becomes less energetic at playtime. Unfortunately, most modern youngsters prefer devices over walks in the garden and fresh air in their spare time.

Parents frequently lack the chance or time to take their children to a sports section. As a result, all of the children’s motor activity is replaced with passive leisure. Being overweight and childhood obesity are quite frequent and exceedingly detrimental to one’s health. Parents can no longer always regulate what their children eat after school, for example. After all, it’s usually chips or fast food with sugary drinks. Obesity can be avoided if a child consumes a lot of unhealthy meals and does not exert the essential amount of energy.

However, parents continue to ask why their child has to participate in strenuous sports. The answer to this question is, of course, health, as athletics strengthens it, as well as immunity. Children’s metabolic processes are activated, and muscles are developed, which prevents arthritis, osteoporosis, osteoporosis, and many other diseases; the body is saturated with oxygen – which improves the work of the brain, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems, which prevents related diseases – arterial hypertension.

Football, in particular, hardens not just the body but also the character. According to recent research, children who participate in sports, especially football, are less vulnerable to ailments such as acute respiratory infections, indicating a robust immune system (Schwellnus et al. 1089). Doctors generally agree that football instruction has a good impact on children’s development (Schneider et al. 771). For example, with a well-established load schedule, youngsters get good academic performance, are better adaptable in society, and have no difficulty talking with classmates. Furthermore, young sportsmen are more physically robust, and while some pupils find 5 to 6 lectures tough, young soccer players find it easy to sit through all of the courses and still go to evening training.

Football fosters leadership abilities, speed, endurance, and strength, teaches teamwork, and assists youngsters in making new friends. This activity provides an outlet for pent-up energy, which is especially useful for preschoolers and primary school students. Football helps children’s psychological development. Thus, it may assist a quiet and timid youngster to become much more active, learn to be responsible for the team, and make decisions. It assists a youngster in becoming more autonomous and socializing with other children.

It is also worth noting that if this sport is prohibited in schools, many youngsters will miss out on opportunities to grow in this area. Not all households can afford to send their children to extra sports sections. As a result, youngsters with athletic potential will be unable to grow and will miss out on numerous chances. A very important fact is that many children who excel in soccer or other sports have the opportunity to get a college scholarship. This can also help children from poor families get the future they deserve.

Another argument in favor of football is that the energetic game requires rapid judgments. This improves concentration, and the frequent need to appraise the situation on the pitch improves mental ability. If the game is enjoyable, endorphins, chemicals that lower anxiety and tension, are released, making the youngster feel better and less frightened. I’d also like to point out that sports may help to increase diversity. Football players’ roles on the pitch and functions are quite diverse: tall and diminutive, leaping and nimble, light and solidly constructed are all sought. Anthropometric factors are not an issue in basketball, volleyball, or hockey.

Conclusion

As a result, schools should stop prohibiting pupils from playing football. Football is an excellent activity for youngsters because it teaches them to work as a team and to share both successes and disappointments with their teammates. Children who play football learn the value of working as part of a team while also developing physical strength and agility. Football also allows the youngster to improve his or her physical strength and agility. They acquire problem-solving skills and learn how to be good athletes. Sporting activities teach children tactical, mental, and physical discipline at an early age. Another crucial feature is that football allows teenagers to earn scholarships to institutions they want to go to but do not have the financial means to attend.
