Introduction

The American retail corporation known as The Home Depot covers the sales consultant role. It is concerned with selling many things, including utilities, construction materials, equipment, and services. Home Depot is the largest home improvement retailer around the globe. It has 2,300 stores across the United States, Canada, and Mexico and has approximately 500,000 workers who are orange-blooded.

The classic retail establishment of today has an interior retail footprint with an estimation of 105,000 square feet, in addition to an online organization that offers more than one million different products to Do-It-Yourself clients, expert contractors, and the largest configuration business within the industry for customers who want someone else to Install It for Them. When the COVID-19 epidemic first started, there was a change that took place within the organization. Following the lockdown imposed on the country during this period, the organization had no choice but to do its business online. It was challenging to make corrections and get further knowledge concerning technology while working for the organization.

Discussion

Concerning this undertaking, the organization has been working with a problem-oriented diagnosis. In response to the COVID-19 breakout, the administration at Home Depot was obliged to dismiss some of its staff. This has resulted in this situation. The necessity that everybody adheres to the recommendations set by the government for Covid 19, which includes keeping social distance and avoiding overcrowded situations, has a substantial impact on this (Collins, 2019).

This is one of the aspects which this has impacted. The steep drop in sales seen by Home Depot played a significant part in the decision made by the firm to let some of its employees go, along with other factors. This has resulted in a significant decrease in the corporation’s workforce, which not only adds to the decreased sales of the organization but has also had a significant negative influence on The Home Depot. In addition, as a direct result of this, the company’s administration has been restructured, and there are currently a few managers employed there.

As a result of the problems that the Home Depot organization was experiencing, a change was necessary. Because of the difficulty presented by their ability to create lower sales, they were compelled to improve the change. This was accomplished by comparing them to various other organizations that offer services comparable to their own. Consequently, Home Depot decided to improve its online client service to appeal to the most significant number of customers. The adjustment was made at the appropriate organizational level, beginning with the seniors and working down to the juniors. This was made possible by providing the workforce with training on current technical breakthroughs and tactics for using digital applications to bring in massive cash for the organization. In addition, workers were given tests to evaluate their knowledge of the organization’s requirements for effectively using digital devices.

Conclusion

To summarize, it is correct to assert that organizational change influences the company’s framework, whether good or bad, and significant repercussions have been seen throughout the Home Depot corporation due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Employees have been laid off, which has resulted in fewer sales for the firm as a whole and, therefore, worse working and living circumstances for the remaining workforce. Individuals have developed a greater appreciation for technology due to the COVID-19 epidemic; employees have gotten training on properly utilizing digital devices, which has led to good development. As a result, innovation and technology have advanced in all regions of the world, and individuals and businesses in today’s world rely on these advancements to succeed in specific markets.
