This Nurse Case Management Department creates optimum learning environments for patients: A diversified patient community in a small-group mentorship setting. They offer various types of advanced directives to patients in the healthcare to ensure their safety. The nurses acquire more attentiveness and a commitment to deliver that evaluates many viewpoints before deciding on the best course of action.

Importance of Good Leadership

Leadership include aiding the patients with planning, prioritization, and decision-making while also guaranteeing that the client’s organizational processes are functioning properly. Nurse leaders at Washington University School of Medicine employ managerial abilities to guarantee that a change is implemented effectively (Colson et al., 2020). Nurses help to create work environments that promote optimal acquitted patient care, communication with the workforce to back quality care standards, and decent relationships with group that encourage effort engagement.

Needs Analysis

Among these advanced directives, in the hospital is the most used directive. If you have a Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order, nothing will be done to try to keep you alive if you cease breathing or your heart stops beating. You can ask your doctor to add a DNR order to your health record if you are in the hospital (Nedjat-Haiem et al., 2018). Only request this if you don’t want the healthcare professionals to attempt to resuscitate you if your heart or breathing stops.

Scope and Purpose of Capstone Project

My project aims to evaluate how Washington University School of Medicine conduct advanced directives in patients through our Nurse Case Management Department. The department provides the patients with ideal conditions where they benefit from the effective team approach and close attention (Naqvi, 2017). A wide range of tasks have been associated with actual Nurse Case headship. It is a precondition of hospital management, and it is an intrinsic integral part of the healthcare sector. It comprises structure performance, achievement of healthcare policy, system integrity, timely care delivery, and efficiency. Different ways of how our Nurse Case Management Department provide advanced directives to patients will also be outlined.

Mentorship and Training

A good mentorship capacity is required of a successful leader; this implies that they are ready to organize the institution for development and efficient functioning regardless of whether they are physically there or not. St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Barnes-Jewish Hospital have medicinal staffs made up of Washington University faculty physicians. The nursing department plays a vital role in assessing the educational requirements in advanced directives and guaranteeing that patients, students, and employees have proper understanding to make informed and knowledgeable choices regarding these crucial areas of healthcare management (Nedjat-Haiem et al., 2018).
