Schools have no more remained as a place for social learning, but have become more and more competitive. Students today have to face severe academic pressures to stay ahead of their competitors. Studies have become elaborate and extensive and this obviously leads to mounting pressures among the students and academic excellence is of prime importance in acquiring well-paying jobs. Women have to play several roles right from the responsibility of schooling children, handling jobs and work pressures and giving time to families.
The problem of time management manifests itself more severely in females who have to juggle their time between schooling children and part-time jobs. Jobs have become necessary as the cost of living is on the constant rise. All these factors surmount to tremendous problems among those who are constantly fighting to achieve several goals in life. Ensuring children reach school on time and reaching to work offices punctually becomes exceedingly difficult with the rising traffic problems.
Commuting is awfully burdensome with all the daily congestions witnessed in the city during peak hours. Needless to say, the stress and pressures on working students are innumerable as a result of which the familial duties take a backseat.
The family once used to be the most important factor in a person’s life. Today, the scenario has changed considerably. With the maximum time being spent at work, family duties have taken a secondary position in life and it is the children who suffer the most if the primary caretaker of the house is out at school and work.
Fast lives have resulted in fast foods and fast foods have resulted in fast diseases. There is little or no time for food to be cooked at home resulting in diseases not only among adults but also among very young children. This, coupled with the extremely rapid pace of life, leaves no room for relaxation or pursuing a hobby, as a result of which, the mental and physical health of people suffers. Multi-tasking brings with it, enormous burdens of stress and responsibility, which individuals cannot cope with and very often fail to achieve their goals.
Life has undoubtedly become fast-paced and demanding as of today. However, it is essential that individuals realize that in order to achieve success in life, it is important to stay healthy and fit and health should remain a priority no matter what the goals in life are. Managing school, jobs and family together, is by no means easy and brings with it exhaustion and sometimes distress among familial relationships.
Summary
With the high-stress levels there is little scope for patience and very often children and other family members are drawn into the emotional upheavals of the fast and demanding life. Multi-tasking has today become a necessity in life, but women must realize the value of sound mental and physical health to achieve goals in life and must work towards enhanced work schedules to ensure time and peace to enjoy the fruits of their hard work.
