Reasons for Collecting Personal Information
This Privacy Policy outlines the information we collect and why we process personal data. We use your personal information for business and commercial purposes, such as providing services, processing orders and transactions, and personalizing services for you. Additionally, your data is used for advertising and marketing, conducting internal business analytics, and maintaining the quality, integrity, and security of our services. We also use it to improve our services, manage user accounts, provide customer support, and verify customer details.
Privacy Rights
United States privacy laws grant residents various rights, which may be subject to exceptions. In some cases, we may request additional information or decline your request, as permitted by law.
The right to know allows you to request information about how we have collected and processed your personal data in the past 12 months. This includes details such as the categories of personal information collected, the sources from which it was collected, the business or commercial purposes for collecting or “selling” personal data (as defined by applicable State Privacy Laws), and the third parties with whom we shared or to whom we “sold” the data. You may also request the categories of personal data “sold” or disclosed for business purposes and the third parties involved.
The right to access enables you to request a copy of your collected personal information.
The right to correct allows you to request corrections to any inaccurate personal data we hold.
The right to delete grants you the ability to request the deletion of personal data we have collected.
The right to opt-out of processing for targeted advertising purposes lets you opt out of the processing of your personal information for targeted or interest-based advertising, including cross-contextual behavioral advertising.
Under Connecticut, Virginia, and California privacy laws, the right to opt out of “sales” of personal information is available. “Sales” are broadly defined and include the transfer of personal data to third parties in exchange for value, such as for analytics or security purposes.
Some states provide the right to opt out of automated decision-making or profiling involving significant decisions affecting your interests, such as legal, employment, or credit decisions. However, we are not required to offer this opt-out if the processing is done to prevent, detect, or respond to illegal or fraudulent activity. Otherwise, we do not engage in automated decision-making or profiling as defined by State Privacy Laws.
Accessing, Correcting, and Deleting Personal Information
You can access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing us at support@studycorgi.com. Please note that limiting or deleting your personal data may affect your interaction with our services and your ability to access your orders.
While we do not sell personal information for money, we use certain services that enable interest-based advertising. State Privacy Laws may classify this as “sharing” or “selling” your personal data to these service providers. You can opt out of such selling or sharing for interest-based advertising and related tracking through your account privacy settings.
California residents can also opt out by broadcasting the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from a supported browser. GPC requests will apply to the browser from which they are submitted. For more information on the Global Privacy Control, visit globalprivacycontrol.org.
Our services are not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect, process, “sell,” or “share” the personal information of users under 16 for interest-based advertising.
Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers allow you to submit a “Do-Not-Track” signal to websites and online services you visit. If you choose to turn on a DNT (Do-Not-Track) browser mechanism, we will not track that User’s activities, use advertising, or plant cookies.
Identity Verification and Authorized Agents Requests
In some cases, we may need to verify your identity to process your request to access, know, correct, appeal, or delete personal information. We reserve the right to confirm your residence and identity, and we may deny your request if verification is unsuccessful. As part of this process, we may ask you to submit a copy of a government-issued ID.
You also have the right to appoint an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. In this case, both you and the agent will need to provide valid government-issued identification to verify the authenticity of the request directly with you.
Appeal Rights and Non-Discrimination
In certain cases, you have the right to appeal our decision regarding your request to exercise your privacy rights. To file an appeal, please email us at support@studycorgi.com.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You will not be denied services, charged different rates, or provided with a different quality of service for exercising your rights.
