Music is an essential part of the majority of people’s lives because it inspires them and helps them to cope with the difficult circumstances they face. Although many popular songs inspire me, one of the main ones is TobyMac’s song called “Help Is On The Way”. Specifically, the song provides me with the sense of being ready to persevere, supports me during hard times, and gives me hope that God will help me.
First of all, the song by TobyMac is my favorite one because I consider it extremely powerful. For example, I often listen to it to raise and maintain my motivation when I feel tired or do not want to do necessary tasks. The main element of the song which enables me to feel motivated is the beat. The song sounds very upbeat and loud, which some people may not like, but I find it inspirational. As a result, after listening to “Help Is On The Way”, my energy level rises significantly, and I start to experience a sense of readiness to face all challenges. I also often listen to “Help is on the way” when I run or do another athletic exercise because it keeps me desiring to set new personal records.
Another reason why “Help Is On The Way” is my favorite song is because it helps me cope with difficult moments in my life. As I learned from reading an interview with TobyMac, he wrote the song after mourning the death of his little son. Such a tragic event did not make TobyMac aggressive or spiteful and instead enabled him to compose “Help is on the way,” a genuine song. In other words, in his song, TobyMac sings that no matter how hard the moment is, God is always around and ready to help. For example, he sings, “Some face a lifetime of falling tears, but He’s in the darkness….” Such words reassure me that the difficult circumstances in people’s lives, including mine, are simply lessons, and God never fails us because he watches us all the time.

In day-to-day activities, people often forget about God’s presence because they become busy with their problems and tasks. Frequently, people remember God only when something tragic happens in their lives. I also sometimes forget to pray or read the Bible, yet when I hear TobyMac’s song, I instantly get the desire to do it.
