To raise awareness of ethics in the workplace, Cisco has developed the Ethics Idol program. Because managers have spent a lot of time creating such a system, it can already make employees think that ethics issues are not the least in the company. In addition, this fact can raise the level of mutual respect between employees and superiors, which also contributes to a healthy atmosphere in the workplace.
Giving a lecture with PowerPoint does not usually cause such involvement in the learning process, which is due to the use of a strategy developed by Cisco (Griffin, Phillips, & Gully, 2020). The main benefit is to create a relaxed atmosphere when discussing ethical issues. Employees are somewhat comfortable while watching the program, so assimilating the material is, firstly, more pleasant, and secondly, more efficient. Effectiveness is when people see a clear example of situations in which ethics are questioned and ways to solve the problem.
I would enjoy this kind of assimilation of ethical issues. In addition, I think it would be practical to involve employees directly in situations where they need to solve an ethics problem. For example, create more interactivity, not just watching and analyzing a TV show. It can be achieved through some play when employees independently reproduce a scene where ethics is questioned. Having experienced this situation personally will help to assimilate the information better and to remember what to do if this does arise not in training conditions. I believe that this can increase the erudition of employees and their level of competence in matters of ethics. In addition, this strategy would increase the level of communication between employees within the company.
