The use of communication technologies (ICTs) in education is one of the essential areas of development of the information society. Pupils must be able to find information independently, analyze, synthesize, and communicate it to others, and master new technologies. Computer technology has opened up new opportunities for teachers themselves to create illustrative material: video films, slides, and slide films since their lack is acutely felt in the educational process. It is known that such means of education, in many respects, facilitate the understanding and memorization of educational material and awaken their interest in the phenomena studied. Perception of information is an important stage of mastering the material. It determines the correct formation of concepts and understanding of their essence.
In this connection, the importance of the computer increases, and new information computer technologies, based on a combination of information and computing capabilities of computers, means of sound, and visual presentation of information, come into the learning process. The current stage in the development of education is characterized by the intensification of the search for new models of education, focused on improving the qualifications and professionalism of teachers, on meeting the needs of society for professionals who are ready to use modern information and ICT in their lessons (Harvard, 2017). Working with the program for preparing PowerPoint presentations allows students to form information and communication competencies. The nature of the relationship between the teacher and students also changes. They become full-fledged organizers of the lesson.
The skills and ways of activity acquired by the students during the creation of multimedia presentations are the resources that are necessary for the formation of information and communicative competencies. The use of computer technologies in the lesson of social studies allows for activating the cognitive activity of students as well as providing a high degree of differentiation of training.
