Low-income individuals are not able to have proper access to dental health due to the lack of insurance coverage. Therefore, as a hygienist, it is critical to understand that these people should focus on preventative measures. The main reason is that the given approach is more affordable than treating an already existing problem. Dental hygiene professionals primarily promote the health and well-being of the oral cavity. Therefore, the hygienist professional should be able to understand a patient in order to ensure proper health maintenance.
Oral hygiene is the main preventive measure, which should be carried out in accordance with all the rules, regardless of the age of the person and the state of health of his or her teeth. Unfortunately, personal hygiene is not always effective to achieve high-quality cleaning of the oral cavity (Linden et al. 228). An essential part of medical and preventive measures is professional hygiene, which is regularly carried out by a hygienist (Linden et al. 227).
Controlled oral health includes activities such as assessing the hygienic condition of the oral cavity and dental education with the creation of motivation for compliance with preventive procedures. It also involves the selection of individual methods and means of oral hygiene, and monitoring the effectiveness of hygiene measures. Assessment of the hygienic condition of the oral cavity is an important indicator of the occurrence and course of pathological processes in the tissues of the oral cavity. When conducting professional oral hygiene, the doctor needs to find contact with the patient (Linden et al. 229). Experience shows that the necessary level of hygiene skills and systematic oral care can be provided only with the collaboration of a doctor and a patient.
In conclusion, the doctor must learn to understand the patient, otherwise, it will be challenging to offer effective treatment and direct the thinking of his or her client to the need to maintain his or her own health. It is also difficult to create motivation for him to cooperate with the doctor and fulfill all these recommendations. The doctor plays a large role in the formation of responsibility for the state of health of the client. Often, after the first professional hygiene procedure, patients begin to be more critical of their teeth and notice how quickly plaque and tartar form.
