Given that the flow of migrants is increasing due to global economic integration, it is essential to determine how this affects the United States’ economy.
Positive Economic Influence of Immigrants
Numerous studies demonstrate the positive impact of immigrants, showing that they significantly contribute to economic growth. The work that immigrants do today is significantly higher than that of Americans (Kesharwani, 202). This may mean that a significant degree of success and development in any production area is primarily due to the expertise of visiting specialists.
Migration has significant positive effects on the economy, but it also reduces wages for the local population (Burchardi, 2020). This may be because many people come from developing countries and are willing to work for lower wages. Additionally, many jobs Americans could take are filled by immigrants, which can negatively affect the population (Clausing, 2019).
However, this does not diminish the positive effects listed above. In this case, positive and negative effects can sometimes balance each other. The impact of immigrants on the economy is not uniform across the country but varies from state to state and industry (Mayda et al., 2022). In this context, it can be assumed that effects across different states can be both positive and negative, sometimes resulting in a net-zero outcome. To examine the effects of this phenomenon in more detail, it is necessary to consider several factors, such as immigrants’ qualifications (Edo, 2019). Thus, it will be possible to identify a specific group of people with greater influence.
Counterargument
The economic impact of visitors can also be assessed from the opposing side, as their presence can lead to market dumping. Additionally, employment opportunities for local people without higher education or those with disabilities may be limited (Suarez-Balcazar et al., 2021). However, the effect of such factors is small and affects small populations. The most damaging impact of migration is on low-skilled professionals because they are easier to replace (Lim, 2021). However, assessing the impact of migrants on the labor market is a complex process that requires an examination of existing works on this topic.

Scientific articles and books on the economic impact of migrants in the United States extensively analyze this topic. Many authors, such as Kesharwani (2020), Burchardi et al. (2020), Mayda et al. (2022), Edo (2019), and Suarez-Balcazar et al. (2021), focus on individual positive and negative aspects of migration. In all papers, a key factor is to focus on the factors that contribute to migrants’ positive impact on enterprise productivity. Thus, the literature reviewed highlights more positive than negative aspects.
Migration issues were also raised at the recent U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit. Many questions have been raised about facilitating migrants’ arrival in the U.S. and about better integrating them into American society (U.S. Department of State, 2022). Thus, the United States government assesses its impact on the country’s economy positively and strives to create more comfortable conditions for its presence. The originality of this work’s theoretical contribution is ensured by the consideration of the main positive and negative factors influencing migration in the U.S. economy. Many of the studies presented include large sample sizes based on migration performance.

In conclusion, it is essential to note that immigrants’ impact on the United States’ economy is generally positive. Multiple studies reviewed in this work argue for the benefits and factors that increase enterprise productivity. Additionally, the employment of migrants increases the federal budget’s growth potential, enabling it to be distributed more efficiently. These factors can create new growth opportunities for the country’s economy.
