Introduction
One of the first challenges faced by the human resources (HR) department is redesigning the vision and mission of the company. The HRM department is directly involved in the vision and mission statements since they should be further shared with the rest of its members (O’Connell, 2021). Therefore, this aspect has to be clear and has to be able to increase commitment among the employees. Any changes in the global environment may force HR managers to modify or change the company’s mission and vision. For instance, possible modern trends regarding the green movement and promotion of eco-friendly products may make the companies direct their HR strategy towards lean management.
Information and Knowledge
Second, information and knowledge today are the key factors that create a competitive advantage in front of other firms in the market. As a result, the HR department has to follow all the innovations that appear in this sector (Taylor, 2021). However, it should include both local and global updates to follow the new technological upgrades within the company’s sphere.
Attracting and Retaining Employees
Third, attracting and retaining employees is another HR responsibility that has to be satisfied due to the employees’ constant changes (Lytle, 2021). Therefore, the company should analyze and choose the correct staff that fits the current organizational perspective and goals and the human skills required at this particular point in time. Globalization made it easier to find the specialist with the necessary skills and experience in whom the company is interested. This fact allows adding the company’s members by internationalizing to share multinational experience and globalize the overall company’s structure.
Conclusion
To sum up, human resources are an inseparable part of any successful company since people are the primary source of knowledge and experience required to lead and manage the organization by fulfilling its goals and objectives. In the modern world, the global environment is another crucial factor influencing a company’s performance and acts as the external environment for both local and international companies. In addition, globalization provides additional opportunities and advantages in the global market compared to the local one.
