Human Trafficking in the United States Project Design and Implementation

Feasibility of Proposed Project

Human trafficking continues to be a significant problem that the United States has been battling for several years. This atrocity is part of the organized crime conducted by various criminal groups in the US (Arnold, 2021). The aim of this project is to investigate the major players in involved in human trafficking and how they coordinate their activities. The study also focuses to identify the major hotspots for human trafficking in the United States and the most vulnerable targets that often fall victims of this crime. The final objective is to make applicable recommendations based on the findings on how this problem can be addressed to provide a long-term solution.

The methodology will involve inviting the survivors of human trafficking to participate in the project, where they will be interviewed on who are the principal suspects, where the crime occurred, and how they were victimized. The researcher will then document the participants’ responses for analysis. This will determine whether the responses conform to the available information about human trafficking in the United States (Bonilla & Mo, 2019). The researcher will be able to identify emerging trends and gaps that the previous studies did not cover on the topic. The researcher will then identify the best practical recommendations that can be implemented by the relevant authorities to combat the problem.

Some of the potential solutions to the study include identifying indicators of human trafficking, educating the public to be aware of such indicators, and encouraging healthy sexual relations. Exposing the beneficiaries of human trafficking profits is also a potential solution that can address the issue of human trafficking significantly. Identifying ways to foster secure neighborhoods and identifying ways to combat the high demand for commercial sex are other possible outcomes. Based on these potential results, the most feasible one for the project is to create public awareness so that the potential victims are aware of the indicators of human trafficking. Educating the public is effective because it is a preventive measure that is likely to reduce the rate of human trafficking in the future.

Feasibility of Proposed Actions to Minimize and Mitigate Potential Drawbacks

This research project is subject to various shortcomings that are likely to influence the credibility of the research findings. The significant drawbacks include reluctance by the victims of human trafficking to participate in the research due to the psychological trauma they suffer (McBride, 2020). The past interaction between the participants and the suspects may influence them to produce biased responses towards the suspects (McBride, 2020). There is also limited time for the researcher to identify the participants, conduct the research, and analyze the results. Lastly, the available resources for the research are likely to be insufficient to effectively facilitate the research.

However, these drawbacks can be addressed through the following proposed actions. Firstly, the participants should be counselled to boost their confidence and emotional stability during the research period. Secondly, the research should also take place in a secure location that guarantees the safety of the participants. Thirdly, the researcher should plan early for the research to conduct the study within the targeted time. Lastly, there is a need for the researcher to conduct fundraisers and ask for donations to generate enough resources to cater for the vital requirements of the research.

Based on the proposed actions, prioritizing the emotional stability of the participants is the most feasible action that can be employed during the research to address the problems likely to be encountered during the research. The safety and emotional stability of the participants will ensure that the responses given are honest and accurate. Such assurance is likely to attract more survivors to participate in the research. Additionally, adequate planning will play a significant role in ensuring that the study is conducted within the planned budget and time. Fundraising campaigns through public functions are also feasible for generating finances for the research.
