Executive Summary
The information management in any media integrated organization is of great significance as it ensures coordination of activities well in such organizations. In this regard, therefore, media integrated houses should ensure that; their information systems are well managed as this will determine their efficiency and effectiveness in terms of their performance. As it would be observed in many media integrated organizations, various problems both from within and outside tend to interfere with the effective management of their information (Loudon & Loudon, 2007).
The Media Integrated Media Solutions LLC is one of the media companies in the UK which has been faced with several problems in the management of its information systems. As it has been revealed most of the problems facing the company are internal and have adversely affected its performance over time. The major problem facing the organization is the lack of devotion by employees in carrying out various activities within the company. On carrying out the research, some of the methods used in data collection were direct observation, conducting interviews, and the use of questionnaires. More so, the use of CCT cameras in the Media Integrated Media Solutions LLC company revealed the failure of most employees to keep time which contributed to the company’s low performance. Generally, the information management in the Media Integrated Media Solutions LLC was found to be affected by the incorporation of employees within the company (Loudon & Loudon, 2007).
Introduction
The Media Integrated Media Solutions LLC has been faced with several challenges: the major being the lack of cooperation by the employees. As it has been revealed, the organization’s biggest challenge in managing its information systems is the low devotion by employees in carrying out their usual activities, leading to its poor performance. In this regard, therefore, for the company to reinstate its performance for the better; corrective measures ought to be taken. More specifically, the problem facing the Media Integrated Media Solutions LLC has to be addressed critically to ensure the attainment of its laid goals and objectives (Loudon & Loudon, 2007).
The problem facing the Media Integrated Media Solutions LLC
As various research have revealed, the poor performance by the Media Integrated Media Solutions LLC has been due to the general unwillingness of employees to devote full devotion to performing various activities in the company. In this organization, various employees especially in the department of broadcasting and journalism were found to lag the company backward in terms of its performance as they did not keep time strictly. More so, the failure of these employees in the company to adhere to time schedules strictly has led to a loss of popularity from the general audience (Loudon & Loudon, 2007).
More importantly, the inability of the employees to comply with the set time schedules effectively has contributed to the development of side problems in the company. As it was found out, many problems have cropped up as a result of employees’ time mismanagement like the lack of coherence in the other departments in the entire organization. In this respect, therefore, the generally poor performance of the organization has been attributed to the entire poor time management by the employees (Loudon & Loudon, 2007).
Further, it was observed that; the lack of proper time management by the employees in the Media Integrated Media Solutions LLC can be attached to a lack of incentives to the employees. More specifically, the employees in the broadcasting and journalism department were not given good allowances in addition to their low salaries. As a result, the employees reacted by failing to adhere to time schedules strictly; which affected the general performance of the Media Integrated Media Solutions LLC (Loudon & Loudon, 2007).
Effects of the Problem
There have been various effects as a result of the failure of employees in the Media Integrated Media Solutions LLC to keep tight time schedules. It was observed that several side-problems have cropped which in turn have deteriorated the prevalence of the problem(s) facing the Media Integrated Media Solutions LLC. In this regard, therefore, the mediocre performance of the company has originated from the poor time management by employees and consequently affected the other departments in the organization. In fact, the performance of the Media Integrated Media Solutions LLC was found to be directly linked with the departments of journalism and broadcasting which were found to be the key problem in the organization (Loudon & Loudon, 2007).
Perhaps, most of the key departments in the organization were found to have a direct link to the departments of broadcasting and journalism whose performance was deteriorating. In this regard, therefore, the general performance of the organization was poor as the key departments in the organization were directly related to the poor performing departments of broadcasting and journalism (Loudon & Loudon, 2007).
Conclusion
Generally, the performance of the Media Integrated Media Solutions LLC was observed to be affected mainly by the poor time management by the employees in the departments of broadcasting and journalism. More specifically, the lack of motivation of employees in the organization has led to their poor time management leading to the general inability of the organization to perform well. It can thus be recommended that the management should devise a system to motivate the employees through good payment and regular incentives. More so, the organization should pursue developing self-managed team groups which would make the employees feel more responsible in their work.
