Summary
The media sector is one of the most significant areas in many countries. In Qatar, this area has developed remarkably rapidly in the last nine years and has taken a predominant position in society. The primary function of the media sector is to provide opportunities to disseminate information among the population.
The leading driver of growth and development of this area in Qatar is rapid economic growth and efforts to promote itself as a regional media hub. Moreover, it is worth noting that state-owned entities mainly manage the media sector. Various broadcasting projects and media and telecommunications businesses brought him development.
The state-owned Al Jazeera Media Network is the leading media outlet in Qatar. This is because it “has become a source of news for foreign channels, news agencies, and newspapers, which has become a global brand in the news industry” (Al-Tamimi et al., 2023, p. 51). It has a wide distribution in the field of broadcasting, such as Al Jazeera English, Al Jazeera Sports channels, Al Jazeera Children’s Channel, Al Jazeera Mubasher Channel, and Al Jazeera Documentary Channel (Al-Tamimi et al., 2023).
At the moment, about three thousand employees are engaged in this organization. In addition to this company, the primary sources of information through media sources are Qatar Television, Qatar News Agency, and Qatar Radio, each of which also employs about five hundred to a thousand employees. The study of sources did not provide the exact number of employees in the media sector. However, there are a reasonably large number of job offers in this area, which suggests that it is an effective source of the country’s economic development.
General Introduction to Literature Review
A literature review is an important step in conducting research in any area. This provides several significant advantages for researchers, the main of which is providing proven and relevant information. Scientific research is based on a comprehensive analysis of available information, carried out after thorough verification and evaluation (Harris, 2019).
Another advantage of conducting a literature review is acquiring up-to-date information verified by modern methods and tools, which increases its credibility. It also helps to identify research gaps and areas that require further investigation. Thus, this stage contributes to compliance with essential criteria, such as evidence-based research.
When searching for information and data on a topic, researchers can encounter two main types of sources: primary and secondary. The main difference between the first type is that it provides a more detailed analysis of the source and the results’ originality (Harris, 2019). Secondary sources examine several scientific papers simultaneously and provide well-established facts (Sileyew, 2019). This kind of literature offers a strong foundation for research and helps ensure that research questions are relevant.
When conducting a literature review within the framework of this work, works that touch on such topics as the impact of training and development on performance and job satisfaction will be investigated. This helps to understand how these components affect employees and organizations’ activities and what tools can be used to improve them (Murtiningsih, 2020). In conclusion, a literature review is a critical component of a research project and provides a foundation for its development.
Literature Review
Training and development within an organization are particularly valuable for improving human resources’ performance and job satisfaction. Paais and Pattiruhu (2020) stated that “they need to be managed to create a balance between the needs, demands, and capabilities, and the importance of quality human resources for the progress of the company” (p. 577). The authors also note that increasing motivation through providing educational opportunities for staff is of particular importance. This aspect provides an opportunity to drive the development and improvement of individual performance indicators.
Many sources point to the importance of carrying out educational initiatives within the organization’s work. Bharthvajan and Fabiyola (2019) point out that training programs can significantly impact employee performance. This is because they help employees acquire new skills and knowledge that are directly relevant to their job responsibilities. This can increase their productivity by allowing them to perform tasks better. In addition, gaining new skills and knowledge through training can improve individuals’ confidence and sense of self-efficacy, increasing their job satisfaction.
The source that indicates the value of training in increasing employee satisfaction is the article by Toumahuw, which provides reasonable evidence for this argument. The author points out that job training affects job satisfaction and employee performance, which positively affects the organization’s activities (Toumahuw, 2023). Therefore, this confirms that the organization’s managers should pay attention to the company’s development by constantly improving employees’ skills and increasing motivation.
