Outdoor art festivals have been part of the community involvement for many decades. People usually value the practices and displays from the activities offered seasonally by the respective artists in the country. According to the survey conducted by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), most Americans and non-Americans always visit theatres (Iyengar and Mario 9). This essay paper will examine the insight of outdoor arts festivals based on the NEA research findings.
Generally, cultural festivals play an essential part in community integration. By engaging people from diverse cultural backgrounds, the activities promote people’s culture, making participants and audiences embrace and respect the values and norms of society. According to the author’s point of view, I believe outdoor festivals are crucial and have a lot of impact on many lives in the country. Based on the research methods used by NEA, the online data collection was effective since it gave the various organizations a general platform to share their feedback. Additionally, specific case studies were a significant part of the research because it allowed the researchers to reach out to the exact participants and audience.
Concerning data presentation, the various bar graphs used to display the findings are simple, and the contents are direct, making them easy to understand. Regarding local economies, Rosenstein states that “when people come to this city for the festival, they have a great time, and they will come back again and again” (40). This facilitates tourism that generates more income for the local areas where the events are conducted.
The fascinating case study is the Tamejavi Festival performed in Fresno, California. This cultural festive serves a great purpose in the community since it involves promoting peace, social justice, and collaborative community (Iyengar and Mario 12). Considering the challenges people undergo, having activities that can address and fight for human rights is essential in the community and for the nation as well.
Outdoor arts have been entertaining, and their ease of access would make people continue attending them. The various experiences they offer and the level of interaction they enhance amongst the audience give them a longer life span. As the level of creativity increases, the cultural festivals will still have a lot of plays to offer in the future. Concerning the breakout of COVID-19, the outdoor arts is extremely hit, and the performance has declined.
