Personal Growth and Writing Development in Composition I

Introduction

Throughout the course Composition I, I have experienced immense growth in the way I approach and write assignments. This class has improved my writing skills and the way I think and analyze a given topic. In learning how to write effectively, I have been able to recognize and deal with challenging concepts that I had previously struggled with. I have developed the skills I need to grow further by pushing myself in this class. Composition I has allowed me to develop my writing skills and capabilities, recognize and overcome challenging concepts, and set me up for success in the future.

Course Reflection

Since starting this course, I have better understood the different writing genres and their conventions. Moreover, I have sharpened my writing prowess, having become more self-assured in my capacity to articulate myself via the written word. My research and citation skills have likewise improved, as has my aptitude for utilizing rhetorical devices to present my arguments effectively (Suprapto 186). In addition, I have refined my capacity to render my writing coherent and organized, and am now better equipped to craft appropriately for diverse audiences.

Throughout the semester, I have encountered several challenging concepts but have been able to tackle them through practice and hard work. In particular, I found it difficult to express myself through writing and to present my ideas clearly and concisely. To overcome this, I have been actively engaging in the writing process, from pre-writing activities such as brainstorming and outlining to revising and editing my drafts (Suprapto 188). I have also been reading more critically, which has helped me to better understand the concepts and to apply them in my writing.

Conclusion

Overall, this course has significantly improved my writing skills and knowledge of composition. I have faced several challenges but have overcome them through practice and hard work. Going forward, I plan to continue refining my writing skills and furthering my knowledge by reading and writing more extensively. Through this, I am confident I will continue enhancing my writing position.
