Quantum Cosmology: Quantum Theory

With the changes in physics, numerous fundamental theories have become more distant from everyday experience. This has led to various challenges in understanding such theories, including quantum cosmology. Quantum cosmology refers to the attempt of theories of physics to explain the existence of the universe. The Quantum theory explains the tiny particles that make up everyday objects, the general gravity, and the structure of the universes. It entails the theoretical nature of matter and energy on atoms. In the series of interviews, Leonard Susskind, a theoretical physicist from Stanford, attempts to answer questions regarding quantum cosmology. This essay reflects on his explanations in videos 5, 6, 12, and 13.

Quantum gravity is an essential subject of discussion in the physical world. It allows physicists to understand and solve problems that require high energy levels. The world cannot understand the mysteries of the universe without appreciating the little things that work (Closer To Truth, 2020). In his interview, Leonard Susskind, in video 5, elaborates on the aspects and importance of quantum gravity. This topic enables us to explain the existence of smaller particles that are not visible, including atoms and sub atoms. Quantum gravity is crucial as it combines general relativity forces and the universe’s structure. It explains the existence of both living and nonliving things and their roles.

Consciousness refers to the expected behaviour of a human being in an awake state. Consciousness is everywhere; however, it is more evident in places where it is needed to help systems come together. In video 6, Leonard Susskind explains that everything in the universe consists of small particles and quantum physics (Closer To Truth, 2020). The quantum objects in the universe produce consciousness and transmit it through various forms of energy. Therefore, making it possible for the universe to be conscious. However, art and science should awaken the total energy of the universe’s consciousness and keep it alive for its inhabitants.

Fine-tuning of the universe refers to changing its minor aspects to support life. Scientists worldwide argue that slight alterations in the basic laws of nature would make the world unconducive for living things. Video 12 of this interview elaborates that the occurrences of life in the universe are due to the fundamental values of physics (Closer To Truth, 2013). Every object on the globe exists due to some laws of nature. And that any attempt to alter these values implies that the sphere cannot support life.

Quantum cosmology explains the exitance of more than one universe. According to the physicist, this number is calculated using the post big bang occurrences characterized by the quantum process. Video 13 explains how the quantum processes created a tremendous amount of energy that led to the universe’s growth (Closer To Truth, 2015). The process generated quantum fluctuations which melted to form regions assumed to be various other universes, each with its laws of physics and energy.

In conclusion, the quantum theory is one of the theories in physics that poses serious challenges to understand. Leonard Susskind is a genius in physics who explains that numerous forces of physics surround the world. However, in this interview, he has tried to elaborate on this theory’s many issues. Quantum theory explores the behavior of matter and is the physics explaining how everything works. It is evident that quantum physics drives the force of the universe, and these interview videos, give professional explanations to prove this point.
