Review of “Try Something New for 30 Days” by Matt Cutts

Matt Cutts provides a new perspective on how to live a life more vividly. His talk is encouraging, for it is full of sense and incorporates life-changing advice – not to be afraid of trying new things. The speech is truly inspiring, even though it lasts only three minutes (Cutts, 2011). The major aspect that attracted me is Cutts’ ability to easily transmit the main ideas using simple language forms so that any person can extract useful tips.

The speaker easily manages to persuade the audience by referring to his own experience. It is the most effective means of engaging people into believing in the reliability of the suggested information. In addition, Matt Cutts (2011) alludes to the American philosopher Morgan Spurlock, whose ideas have greatly inspired him to add something new to his life. What is more, persuasion is created by the way he narrates the outcomes of his experiment; for instance, he managed to write a book that has become a bestseller (Cutts, 2011). His eagerness and passion for the method were decisive factors in the talk’s efficiency because they create interaction between the speaker and the audience.

In general, I can relate to the topic because, as a human being, I am always searching for new experiences. In the attempts to add something new to life, people tend to forget that they should also cut down on other things. Creating space for novelties is possible when individuals give up outdated patterns of thinking and living. I believe I could implement the suggested ideas in my life to make it brighter. On the whole, big changes result from the small steps one can take every day to live more fully.
