Social Skills in Zero to Three Year Old Children

Early learning is an important component of one’s future well-being, which should be emphasized by both parents and educators. From this perspective, the ability to communicate with other people efficiently is vital for personality formation in the long run. Therefore, highlighting this aspect of one’s progress in life is especially vital during the first three years of life since it is interrelated with other areas of personal growth.

The clip about the acquisition of social skills presents different stages of children’s development. They include building trust, consistency, and loving interactions with their parents, who are the first people to nurture the necessary qualities (“Social skills,” n.d.). Hence, it is important to foster healthy social-emotional development by teaching babies to control their emotions, be independent in communication, and instill the feeling of safety by establishing routines.

The information from this video is extremely beneficial for my future work with children. First, I will help them develop empathy towards others by naming the emotions they have and emphasizing the feelings of other people around them. Second, the focus on encouraging independent efforts will boost their confidence in their abilities in the long run. Third, the demonstration of acceptable ways of behaving in society will allow children to successfully cooperate with peers in any setting.

In conclusion, the theory presented by the researchers from Zero to Three is extremely beneficial for both parents and professionals working with children. It underpins their combined efforts in educating new generations and improves the understanding of appropriate communication patterns suitable for particular situations. In addition, it distinguishes the skills by age, which allows assessing one’s abilities and timely notice of any issues regarding behavior for their elimination.
