The issue of teenage pregnancy is quite topical at present. Despite the fact that the awareness concerning the threats of teen pregnancy has been raised efficiently, the instances of teen pregnancy still occur, and, as a result, the rates of abortion among teens, as well as the number of abandoned children, are growing (Florida adolescent reproductive health facts, 2014). Therefore, such organizations as the NEFL Teen Pregnancy Task Force are of huge significance.
The agency is located in Jacksonville, Northeast Florida (644 Cesery Blvd., Suite 210, as the official site of the organization says (Northeast Florida Healthy Start, 2014). It is located in a typically urban setting; the atmosphere in the agency is, however, far from the traditional formal environment. The atmosphere is rather friendly, and the visitors clearly feel very comfortable in the office.
Apart from dealing with teenage pregnancies, the agency is also directed at a range of healthcare issues, including healthcare services and emergency care unit for newborn children, healthcare facilities for older children, counseling services for young mothers, family therapy, etc. (Northeast Florida Healthy Start, 2014a).
According to the agency description, the NFHS is a charity organization. It thrives on donations and, therefore, provides its services for free. A very noble initiative, it may, however, hinder the evolution of the services.
The organization has a unique method of marketing its services to the target audience. The company y uses various social networks as the key method of promoting its facilities. Seeing how the NFHS does not have much money to begin with, the idea of using social networking is rather smart. However, as the organization starts growing and expands into entire Florida, a better marketing campaign should be created for NFHS to attract donors and investors.
At present, the key projected needs of the agency include search for donations and investors. Though people donate to the agency regularly, due to the increase in the rates of family issues, the need for the organization to expand has emerged recently. As a result, Northeast Florida Healthy Start needs more financial resources for updating its technology, training the staff and promoting its services to the rest of the Florida communities.
Although the teen pregnancy rates in Jacksonville community cannot be considered out of proportions, the services of the NFHS are still used widely. The reason for the anecy to be so popular is that it does not focus on the issue of teenage pregnancy alone, but also provides other services related to family issues, especially the ones concerning children vaccination, therapy for mothers, and other problems of the kind. As a result, the community depends on the NFHS organization greatly, and the Northeast Florida Healthy Start programs seem to have been integrated into the lives of the community members successfully.
Despite the fact that the agency in question is aimed at preventing teen pregnancy, it also provides the programs that help address the issues related to teen pregnancy in a very efficient way. For example, the Black Infant Health Community Council has been created by the NEFL in order to provide African American teenage mothers with the resources required to raise a healthy child, particularly, healthcare services. By offering counseling services and recommendations, the NEFL Organization can help a pregnant teen to get over one of the hardest stages of her life.
