Weather
Beijing has four distinct weather patterns; it is friendly to tourists in the late autumn and spring seasons. During the autumn season, Beijing hosts a significant number of tourists, this is the time of the season that the tourism sector recognizes the activity to be at its peak. The spring season has a good number of visitors, although it always exhibits a yellow wind which is unfriendly to travelers. Generally, the city has a warm climate during this period of visit and sunny condition is the order of the day (Hall, 2019). Tourists who love the winter season will also enjoy exploring Beijing’s beautiful landscapes. The snowy sights on West Hill, featuring a steamy hotspot, make the city an adorable place to be in.
Customs and Culture
Beijing is a city with rich culture; it has decorations for arts; calligraphy and painting, among many other artistic works. Each year drama festivals are carried out with talented dramatists from China and the Western part of the globe. The cultural values of both men and women are similar; the members of the community live as a family. The Chinese government has done away with celebrities that are morally corrupt and encourages traditional moral values to be practiced.
Social avenues with a high population of attendees include places such as the Youth Art, Capital, and Tianqiao theatres. Music and acrobatic performances are part of the recreational sessions available in the city; this is accompanied by visual arts such as Chinese-style painting and calligraphy (Xue, 2019). A significant number of galleries and shops showcase these paintings and the Western-style paintings as well are not left behind. The National Library of China is located in the West of the Zoo in the Southern Haidian district; this is a rich collection of books and archives that has existed for many years.
Beijing citizens have enough time for leisure activities, and watching movies is one of the common ways of spending free time. The youthful population, on the other hand, harbors the discos, karaoke bars, nightclubs, and tea houses. Watching television has a significant number of followers as many households possess colored sets of television. The people of China origin are worldly known for their love of good food, and the capital city of China showcases culinary. Most foreigners prefer Peking duck and the best local dishes of the past. These can be purchased in restaurants in major cities and even locally in remote areas.
Language
The often language spoken in Beijing with its unique accent is Mandarin Chinese. Even though English is not commonly spoken by the majority of the Chinese population, most tourist sites have a variety of English signs (Ward et al., 2022). Staff in the major hotels are proficient in English and taxi drivers. Most travelers, therefore, have no trouble as they explore the country, even without a guide. Currency, Business, and Politics
The form of currency used in China has two names; the people’s renminbi (RMB) and the yuan (CNY). The yuan is the unit of account of the country’s financial and economic system, while the official currency which acts as a medium of exchange is the renminbi. 1 CNY is equivalent to 0.1495 USDs and 1USD is equivalent to 6.6869 CNY; this can act as a guideline when carrying out various transactions. The Bank of China is the only local bank in China that is charged with the role of carrying out money exchange services. To carry out business in China, all and especially foreigners, have to acquire a license as a legal requirement for operation. The authorization can be done by either the Ministry of Commerce or the local authorities available in the country. The Chinese government provides subsidies and incentives to foreign investment to encourage them to invest in the Country. Women, especially from abroad, are treated with respect in China and are given equal opportunities as men. This is done as appreciation for the respected business women receive in their home country.
The business atmosphere in the country is conducive for both local and foreign investors and travelers. China was ravaged by the COVID-19 pandemic, which harmed its economy, although it is fighting hard to get back into its recent state. Appropriate safety precautions should therefore be taken in the country, such as putting on masks while touring around the city. Generally, China has had a stable political situation in the recent past, with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) being in power with a political agenda of reshaping the country’s economy. There is a conflict of interest between the Chinese who are of the Islamic faith, although there are speculations on the numbers affected. Hong Kong was a place of great contention as well before the COVID-19 hit. The population strived to retain their democracy and autonomy.
