Henri Fayol is a French figure who practiced management and was the founder of the school of management. He made an essential contribution to developing leadership and such a system. Frederick Taylor is an American entrepreneur who contributed significantly to developing management and management systems. These theories have greatly influenced business over the last century and still influence many processes today. In the 21st century, the value of these principles has not decreased and is a widely used practice worldwide.
Fayol offers 14 principles for management that consider a top-down approach to management. This method allows managers to manage employees’ work and efficiently manage the company and all its processes. In addition, it defines five main functions that help to understand and adequately organize the processes in the company. Such ideas are mainly based on managing order and discipline in the company, which will ensure the efficiency of the employees (Edwards, 2018). That is all these theories of concentration and centralization of all decisions and their unitarity. Today, these principles are still relevant and widely used. Many companies continue to use the basic principles even though these ideas are 100 years old.
Taylor, in turn, developed four principles, which are also based on how to manage a business effectively. Unlike Fayol, Taylor’s main idea was to train workers and then organize these people for practical work, thus allowing each company to have its approach to workers. Therefore, a critical stage assesses the production process and the team’s division into certain specialized groups (Edwards, 2018). Today, such ideas are also actively used; they usually manifest themselves in dividing people into different groups and allowing them to perform tasks efficiently in a short time.
The Ideas of Henri Fayol and Frederick Taylor are still popular and used in companies to organize their own business. They took a huge step in developing management and the management system, which accordingly gave impetus to the development of many companies and industries. Fayol and Taylor ensured an excellent organization of work among employees. They developed principles that today help solves difficulties in the company and implement processes effectively and quickly.
