This report aims to summarize the interview with the IT manager. As the interview showed, this company strives to treat its workers with respect, empathy, and genuineness, ensuring that their privacy is not breached and enough opportunity is created for continuous education.

Conclusion

This interview revealed that various business and technical skills are equally essential. Employees and employers should be consistent and honest in their work. The former should not be afraid to report a mistake to their bosses because discussion can resolve many issues. The latter should express a caring and respectful attitude to workers to establish trust. Although many companies use software to track websites visited by employees and what they post on social media, the IT manager claimed that these practices are inappropriate because they violate people’s privacy. Cybersecurity is certainly a critical topic for discussion in the COVID-19 era when many individuals have to work remotely. Therefore, the interviewee stated that it is essential to raise awareness about potential online threats. When one applies for a new job, the applicant should be prepared to demonstrate expertise in a particular field and show superior communication skills and personal responsibility.
