The Kaizen Approach to Organizational Change at Google

Description of the Kaizen Organizational Change Approach

The company under analysis is Google. Implementing an extensive organizational change program at Google requires applying the Kaizen approach. Under this approach, the senior leader should create an action plan focused on accomplishing different goals directed toward improving processes and staff performance in the company to easily implement the change. In order to realize the change with the help of Kaizen, it is important to follow the steps: identify the issue to be changed, analyze processes, offer the change, test solutions, assess results, standardize the change or solution, and promote continuous improvement.

Identifying Problems

In the first stage, the senior leader should inform all employees of Google’s intentions and goals. This step is necessary to support employees in achieving the goals set out in the plan. Next, the senior leader should conduct an analysis of the company’s current state to identify problems and potential opportunities for improvement, conducting a survey of employees or interviewing them to get opinions.

Developing Solutions and Evaluating the Results

Once the problems and opportunities are identified, the senior leader should determine the specific actions that should be taken to implement the program. The senior leader should also provide various tools and methods for tracking the effectiveness of the program. These methods may include key performance indicators, cost analysis, and results analysis (Goyal & Law, 2019). This step will assess the program’s effectiveness and help develop the next steps to achieve the goals.

To achieve maximum effect, the senior leader should hold regular discussions with Google’s employees to exchange ideas and suggestions for improving the work while allowing the team to be more focused and achieve the desired results.  Overall, under the Kaizen approach, the senior leader should continually work on improving the team’s work and suggest new ideas for achieving the set goals (Google, 2023). Since the Kaizen approach is focused on continuous improvement, these processes should be continued to achieve the maximum effect.
