The legalization of abortion is one of the most disputable issues today in the United States. Most pro-abortionists argue that it is wrong to deny someone an opportunity to exercise their freedom to relish life and take responsibility for their actions. Despite a hot debate on the topic, terminating the life of unborn child is acceptable provided the mother is not willing to raise it for whatever reason they have. Every individual has a constitutional protection to live fully without infringement from other people. Expectant mothers should be given the privilege to determine the fate of their fetuses, and if they deem terminating the pregnancy as the suitable thing, they should have the legal protection to do so. Raising a child is a mandate of the parent, and despite many people rejecting the idea of feticide, no one cares about the kid after birth.
Anti-abortionists decry the act without logically assessing the parent’s situation while making such a decision. I agree with Adrian Wilkes thoughts that abortion gives a woman a chance to enjoy her constitutional liberty by relieving child distress. I think that victims of rape should be allowed to abort the fetus because it is a source of stress and trauma, leaving them without the emotional stability required to raise a child. Certain illnesses and conditions necessitate a mother to end her pregnancy before the due time. Life begins at conception, and although deliberate miscarriage is deemed unethical and unlawful, pregnancy control pills are advocated by most people. Therefore, feticide should be allowed, giving individuals the freedom to determine the fate of their children’s life. Legalizing it will provide a legal basis so that those who contemplate it would have a chance to get the required medical care and avoid unnecessary deaths resulting from illegal feticide.
