Background
Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor is a remarkable person, who played a considerable role both as the judge, and later, the first Hispanic and Latina member of the court. According to Vincenty (2021), she claims that her judicial philosophy “is simple: fidelity to the law. The task of a judge is not to make the law – it is to apply the law” (“Her judicial philosophy is “fidelity to the law.””). It represents herself as a person who cares about accused ones and tries to understand the position they hold. Her life story can be considered an extraordinary one due to the contribution she made. This essay will describe my abstract life story, based on Sonia Sotomayor’s achievements I tend to approach, complimenting it with evidence of my uniqueness.
How Do I See my Life Story
My greatest desire, which unites me with Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, is to ensure the safety of all the individuals within the society. Moreover, I intended to apply the law appropriately to find the optimal solutions to the community’s issues. One of the potential ways to become a part of the lawmaking system is to enter Supreme Court through significant judicial experience regarding Sonia’s biography.
I believe that this method is the correct one, as working as a judge can empower a specific vision, which will be helpful in complicated cases considering and issues solving. Therefore, I can construct my life story from such parts as: finishing a specialized high school, beginning working as a business lawyer, becoming a judge, being nominated to Supreme Court. I am confident that the unique characteristics I possess, such as analytical mindset, decision-making skills, and ability to look at the situation from different people’s points of view. I assume that it will enable me to operate as a Supreme Court Justice or a member of the Senate successfully.
