The standard of practice refers to the actual treatment delivered by the healthcare practitioner. It relates to the level of care that the patient receives. In contrast, certification is the process involved with the evaluation of an individual and his or her execution and knowledge of standard practices or necessary principles. All the processes are essential for the healthcare field, and it is possible to envision why. It is strictly prohibited for people without medical education to administer medication as harm could be incurred to oneself or others. To prove adherence to standards, doctors and nurses must acquire a prior certification of their skills.
