Science is very important in society because it is through it that different discoveries are made. Scientific methods for instance are used to discover a medicine to cure different diseases and come up with innovations that improve the lives of human beings (Brundage and Michael 10). In the field of medicine, scientists highly use animal experimentation. This involves the use of non-human animals to perform experiments.
This is a topic that has been controversial in my region. Some individuals support animal experimentation while others argue that it should not be practiced. Supporters of the practice argue that most medical achievements rely on the use of animals. Their argument therefore is based on the premise that the use of animals in medical experiments is beneficial. On the other hand, individuals from animal welfare and animal rights organizations argue that it is a cruel process. The controversy surrounding animal experimentation is a serious concern that should be addressed by considering views from both sides.
